Therapy for Women Who Are Used to Being the Strong One
I provide telehealth therapy for women across Tennessee and Alabama.
Many of the women who find their way here are used to being the strong one.
The dependable one. The one others rely on. From the outside it may look like you
have everything together — but inside you may feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or
quietly struggling in ways others do not see.
You may find yourself constantly holding things in. Pushing through anxiety,
stress, or emotional pain because that is what you have always done. Over time,
that strength can begin to feel heavy. You might notice difficulty sleeping,
feeling emotionally drained, or using food, alcohol, or other habits simply to
get through the day and calm your mind.
Perhaps trusting others feels difficult. You may worry about how you will be
perceived if you show your true feelings. Some women I work with describe feeling
anxious, second-guessing themselves, or struggling to name what they are feeling
at all. Others carry memories of painful experiences that still show up in their
lives through flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, or a constant sense of being on edge.
You may even notice yourself living smaller than you once did — holding back,
staying quiet, or remaining unseen because it feels safer that way.
If any part of this resonates with you, I want you to know that you are not alone.
Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, especially when you have been
used to handling everything on your own. The fact that you are here says something
important about your strength and your desire for something better.
Tranquil Mind - Relaxed Body - Open Heart
In our work together, we move at a pace that feels steady and respectful of what
you have been carrying. Therapy is not about judging you or forcing you to relive
painful experiences before you are ready. Instead, it is about creating a safe and
grounded space where you can begin to understand what has shaped you and how those
experiences continue to influence your life today.
Together we will explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, calm the nervous
system responses that drive anxiety and overwhelm, and begin rebuilding trust in
yourself and your ability to move forward. My approach is collaborative and deeply
attuned to your individual experiences.
Many of the women I support are navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional exhaustion,
or major life transitions. Some are also working to reconnect with their bodies
after years of stress, trauma, or cultural expectations of always being the strong
one. Healing often involves learning how to soften those expectations and make
space for your own needs and well-being.
You do not have to carry everything alone anymore.
If you are ready to begin moving toward greater steadiness, clarity, and healing,
I would be honored to walk alongside you in that process.
About Red Jasper Counseling
Red Jasper Counseling is a space created for women who are used to being the strong one for everyone else. Many of the women I work with are high-functioning, capable, and deeply caring — yet quietly carrying anxiety, exhaustion, trauma, or emotional pain that others may not see.
My approach is compassionate, thoughtful, and collaborative. I believe healing happens through deep listening, honest reflection, and learning new ways to care for both the mind and the body. Together we work toward greater steadiness, self-understanding, and a life that feels more peaceful and aligned.
Therapy is not about fixing you — because you are not broken. It is about creating a safe and grounded space where you can begin to release what you have been carrying and reconnect with your strength, clarity, and sense of self.
